Teacher Profile- Holli Harrod

Holli Harrod is a mother of four kids and a 7th and 8th grade ELA teacher. Teaching one grade could be a lot for one person, but teaching two grades and having to go home to 4 kids of your own can be challenging some days. There are good memories you can make when you’re teaching, nonetheless.

Harrod enjoys getting to hang out with her co-workers, and she loves coming to work and teaching the kids new things.

“My favorite part of working here is the students and my co-workers,” said Harrod.

When teaching one single grade, there could be up to 40-50 kids. With Harrod teaching more than one grade, however, there is the possibility of double that amount of students.

“I teach around 110 kids a day,” said Harrod.

Though most people often don’t get time to themselves, teaching takes the entirety of a person’s time. Teachers have to grade papers and make sure students get their work turned in, but Harrod makes sure she has free time for her kids and family.

“In my free time, I watch my kids play softball, cook food for my family and hang out with them as much as I can and I do anything my kids need me to do for them,”  said Harrod.
