Peyton’s family favorite homemade cookies!

I learned how to make these chocolate chip cookies about a year ago and they are absolutely a family favorite. If you follow these exact steps, you will have the perfect chewy, golden brown cookies!

  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup white (granulated) sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 375. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder, then set aside. Sift all your dry ingredients to get the perfect soft chewy cookies.

Cream together butter and sugars until combined. Then beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Mix together your wet and dry ingredients until combined. Add in your 12 oz package of chocolate chips and mix well.

Make large spoon full balls of dough, and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheet.

Bake in preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just BARELY starting to turn brown.

When you take them out of the oven remove them from your baking pan and let cool on a cooling rack. When your cookies are cooled, put them in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

When you remove the cookies from the oven your cookies will still look doughy when you take them out, don’t put them back in the oven that’s how you want them to look!
