This week elementary is having the annual pumpkin decorating contest. 

“They get more and more creative every year,”  second grade teacher Jennifer Nevils said. 

There is more than just the decorating of a pumpkin.

You get “involvement with your children,” Nevils said.

Many students participate and each pumpkin is decorated differently. 

“Mine’s a chicken, because I like chickens,” second grade student Grace said. 

There is a prize for the contest. 

“We do prizes for first, second, and third place. They get a ribbon,” Nevils said.
